The following are the terms and conditions of the RICT. Please ensure that you read the terms and conditions before registering for the RICT. These terms and conditions are subject to change without notice, from time to time in our sole discretion.

Terms and Conditions for Entry to Risk Intelligence Challenge Trophy 2013 (“RICT”)

1. Each entry warrants that:
(a) all details provided in their entry are true and correct; and
(b) the essay entered is their own original creation and work, and does not infringe the rights (including copyright) of any other person.

Deloitte takes a serious view of students who plagiarise any sources of essays. All direct quotes and references to published literature must be appropriately acknowledged. Heavy penalties are imposed for plagiarism.

2. Each participant agrees to indemnify Deloitte in relation to any loss or damage resulting from any breach of these warranties.

3. Deloitte may publish a selection of all submitted essays in its periodicals. By entering the essay competition, authors give their permission for their essay to be used in such publications. Any essay published would be done so with proper attribution to the author.

4.  Except for information already lawfully in the public domain, the participant shall keep secret and shall not at any time (whether during the RICT or thereafter) use for his or her own or any third party's advantage, or reveal to any person, firm, Deloitte or organisation and shall use participant's best endeavors to prevent the publication or disclosure of all Confidential Information (as defined below).

"CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION", for the purpose of this Agreement, shall mean information relating to the business, customers, products and affairs of Deloitte (including without limitation marketing information) deemed confidential by Deloitte, treated by Deloitte or which the participants knows or ought reasonably to have known to be confidential, and trade secrets, including without limitation designs, processes, pricing policies, methods, inventions, technology, technical data, financial information and know-how relating to the business of Deloitte.

5. If the participant breaches this obligation of confidentiality, the participant shall be liable to Deloitte for all damages (direct or consequential) incurred as a result of the participant's breach.

6. Each participant shall agree not to make disparaging remarks, either spoken or in words to any fellow participants and/or Deloitte and/or any external organisations.  Deloitte will not be liable for such acts and the said participants will be wholly responsible for any legal issues arising from their acts.

7.  All entries become the property of Deloitte. Each participant agrees that Deloitte may at its discretion use any entry for publicity and any other purposes relating to the Competition, and for future promotional, marketing and publicity purposes in any media worldwide, without notice and without any fee being paid to the participant.

8. The decision of Deloitte in relation to any aspect of the Competition will be final and will be binding on every person who enters the competition. No correspondence will be entered into.

9. To the full extent permitted by the law, Deloitte will not be liable for any injury, damages, expenses or loss whatsoever (whether direct or consequential) to persons or property as a result of any person entering the Competition or accepting or using any prize, including without limitation non-receipt of the prize.

10. If there is an event that prevents or hinders Deloitte’s conduct of the Competition or Deloitte’s ability to deliver the prize to the winner, then Deloitte may in its discretion cancel the Competition. Further, Deloitte may at its sole discretion recommence it under the same or similar conditions.

11. By submitting an entry to the Competition, each participant agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. Deloitte may at its discretion refuse to award any prize to any participant who fails to comply with these Terms and Conditions.

12. Only entries that satisfy the requirements set out in these Terms and Conditions will be accepted into the RICT.
